b. 1894 A descendant of William the Conqueror, apparently. He seems to have specialized in wireless equipment. M.A. (Cantab); member of the Old Etonian Flying Club; he was also a member of 'the Listeners', who won a spelling bee against the BBC in 1938. He was one of the few people who made no mistakes! Later a Lt-Col in the Royal Corps of Signals. Killed in WWII; 20 November 1941 in Libya, aged 46. |
