Fokker F-VII, Bob Santos, 1/72 Injection kit
This model is really a model of the Fokker F-VII that was built for the Amelia movie. I worked mostly from about 30 stills from that movie. I used the wing and fuselage from the Zvezda kit of Southern Cross and I modified both, especially the fuselage because the doors and windows are entirely different. All the rest was scratchbuilt. 1/72 scale. A new nacelle was turned from Butterboard, detailed and then two copies cast from resin. Likewise, one float was carved from butterboard, skinned with thin sheet styrene and two copies cast from resin. Same with the engine front shrouds. Engine and float struts are a combination of brass and styrene rods. Details are mostly bits of styrene and the control cables are thin black thread. All decals are home made.
